Chevrolet to Expand Military Discount, Support Mt. Everest Excursion

Move comes as Chevrolet celebrates National Military Appreciation Month.

One thing that it seems every automotive brand can agree on is an unwavering appreciation for active and retired military personnel, their families and the sacrifices made by all involved. To show that appreciation, almost every brand has a military discount that military families can take advantage of because of the sacrifices they’ve made to protect the freedom and liberty that allows each American citizen to live the type of life they do.

“These brave men and women have done so much for our country,” said Steve Hill, GM vice president of U.S. sales and service. “Making sure all veterans can take advantage of our military discount to celebrate Military Appreciation Month is one small way we can express our gratitude.”

But while each brand has its own version of the military discount, Chevrolet has decided to up the stakes a little in order to show its appreciation. Instead of the typical one year of separation from the military, which is usually required in order to qualify for the discount, any car-buyer who has ever been in or a family member of someone who has EVER been in the military purchases a Chevrolet before the end of May 2016, they will be eligible for the discount.

The move from Chevrolet to expand the discount program isn’t much of a surprise, as the brand has been supporting members of the military for over 100 years, including during WWII when the brand converted each of its production facilities to military facilities.

On top of the expanded discounts, Chevrolet is also helping a few active-duty military members accomplish their goal to climb Mt. Everest. The troops would be the first active-duty soldiers to reach the summit.

Larry H. Miller Chevrolet Provo has overstocked their inventory and will be holding a special one-day-only sale with cars, trucks and SUVs selling for as little as five dollars.

Jason Hawks, general manager of Larry H. Miller Chevrolet Provo, announced plans to hold a special five dollar used vehicle sales event on Saturday, January 10th, 2015. The one-day sales event comes as a result of a heavily overstocked inventory from recent trade-ins.
“This isn’t a joke or a gimmick. This is real,” shared Jason. “During this one-of-a-kind five dollar sale, every used vehicle on our lot will be sold for unheard of prices. In fact, several cars will be available for under FIVE HUNDRED dollars. It’s the perfect opportunity to get a good, quality used car at the lowest price possible, including a car for only five dollars.”
Vehicles will be on display Saturday, January 10th at Larry H. Miller Chevrolet Provo, located at 2125 N. University Parkway in Provo. At 9AM, everything will be unlocked and opened so that buyers may inspect the vehicles before the sale begins. Then, starting promptly at 10AM, prices will be posted on the windshields, allowing whoever is sitting behind the wheel to purchase the vehicle at the posted sale price, plus tax, title, license and dealer fees.

“We’ve notified banks about this one-day sale. Special financing and extended terms will be available, and all applications will be accepted.” added Hawks.
If you are skeptical about the vehicle selection that will be on hand for the event, no need to worry. MANY new and used vehicles will be sale-priced and ready for immediate sale.
“Our hope is that people in the market will take advantage of this innovative sales approach and get into a great vehicle at a very low price with no hassle. And, hopefully, have a little fun in the process.”
Amidst the excitement for this event, Hawks is careful to remind everyone that it is a one-day sale only. When the day is done and the sale is over, everything will return to normal operations.
